Aquaporin Evolution

Aquaporins, or water channels, are transmembrane proteins responsible for transporting water across cell membranes. Surprisingly, aquaporin proteins have not been characterized across the diversity of Anura despite their importance in allowing frogs and toads to maintain homeostasis throughout their lifetimes, but especially during the breeding period. My question is: What is the relationship between genetic diversity in aquaporins and phenology in Anura?
